History of the Ohio Emeralds, Purpose, and Goals
Ohio Emeralds Fast Pitch Softball was established in 1999 as nonprofit tax exempt 501 (c) (3). The Ohio Emeralds teams have won many tournaments and have sent a various teams through the years to national playoffs at the ASA, NSA, USSA, and Pony levels. We are also proud to have former players go on to play at the college level. Our organization fields teams in the 10U to the 18U age groups.
Our organization is based in Stark County but serves multi-county territories (Cuyahoga County, Erie County, Huron County, Lorain County, Medina County, Sandusky County, Stark County, Summit County, and Wayne County.)
We believe the purpose of the Ohio Emeralds is to recognize each person/athlete as a unique individual, coming to us with varying aspirations, abilities, interests, and needs. We respect the rights, privileges, and differences of each individual and try to provide the finest possible skill development for each of them. We attempt to provide our young ladies with opportunities to develop socially, intellectually, emotionally, and physically in addition to developing all of the basic fundamental skills needed to compete in softball. We believe the Ohio Emeralds, working cooperatively and continuously with community members and private instructors, is entrusted with the responsibility for the growth of every young person/athlete. Together we must work to develop each individual’s personal feeling of well-being and self-worth. Therefore helping each individual to evolve into a well-adjusted and skilled, contributing member of society.
